I was honored to be featured in the Soar to Success Magazine in 2017. You can read the full article now right here.
Stella Nsong has “Soared to Success” as a columnist, mentor, consultant, speaker and trainer. She developed a nursing and healthcare service from scratch to help aging adults receive the expert care they need, plus her company provides opportunities for nurses looking to build their own businesses. She also writes, consults and speaks extensively in the healthcare industry.
Her next goal is to grow the elderly healthcare system, within the United States, to deal with the impending elder cliff as millions of “Baby Boomers” reach their 80’s and require more and different healthcare services.
Stella attributes her success to her ability to develop duplicatable systems and processes that allows her to train nurses to replicate her business and be successful as well as her ability to help those in traditional clinical nursing roles to transition into nurse entrepreneurship.
Stella began her nursing career as a caregiving nurse making visits to provide healthcare for home-bound clients. It was on one of these home visits many years ago, she had a life changing moment.
On a dark, cold and snowy Northeast Ohio Saturday morning, she was driving on slick ice-covered roads and found herself stuck in the ditch. There she was, tires spinning, motor running and snow blowing. Not the type of situation anyone wants to experience.
At that moment, several questions popped into her head,
“Why am I in this ditch? Where am I going? Why am I not in my nice warm bed like normal people?”
This unfortunate incident forced her to ask some hard questions and the answers helped her change her life for the better. That day, she promised to start her own home healthcare company so people, who do like to get up early in the morning, could work for her.
She started her first agency, with no money, no line of credit, and no financial backing, just her sheer determination. In only 36 months, her fledgling business grew, grossing over one million dollars.
Stella is the true embodiment of the “American Spirit” and realization of the “American Dream.”
Through the years, Stella continued to expand her horizons and has been recognized for her significant contributions to the healthcare industry.
She was always a go-getter and early in her career, was awarded the Gold Medal for practical nursing in Georgia.
In 2011, she was nominated for “Business Woman of the Year” in Chesterland Ohio.
She was also nominated for both the Platinum Award in Care Management, as well as, the Professional of Note in Geriatric Medicine, in 2012.
For her book, “The Caregiver’s Cliff Notes, 27 Things to Do When Your Parents are losing Their Independence,” she won the Independently Published Nonfiction Book Award. It’s available on Amazon.
In 2014, she won the Pinnacle book award in the elder care books category and her book became an Amazon bestseller.
She received the Woman of Achievement Award, in 2015, which was in recognition for her endeavors in the healthcare community.
Stella has been a leader in the healthcare industry for over 20 years and has the awards and recognition to prove it.
Currently, Stella is a highly sought after motivational lecturer and elder care consultant. She writes a syndicated column entitled, ‘The Elder Care Cliff Report: What baby boomers need to know about caring for their parents.”
She is building the bridge to transform America’s Elder Care through education, innovation and collaborative initiatives. Her books, columns, lectures and seminars offer road maps to surviving caregiving, plus what everyone needs to know about caring for the elderly.
Stella stays very active in her industry’s organizations and is currently a State Director of the Ohio Elder Care Planning Council and operates several businesses, including Nightingale Home Support and Care, Inc. She is a certified dementia practitioner and professional geriatric care manager.
Just like any other entrepreneur, Stella has experienced some frustrating experiences, but has built a successful business. Her greatest joy now is to pass that wisdom on to other nurses and help them become successful healthcare entrepreneurs.
Stella has a vision. She has set a goal to help 100 Nurses earn One Million Dollars in 36 Months following her program of systems, mentorship, and knowledge.
This goal also has an additional benefit of increasing the quality of healthcare for the elderly across the United States. She holds a deep belief that this country is facing an elder care cliff by the year 2030, as “Baby Boomers” reach their mid-80’s. Stella knows that additional resources, including experienced nurses and services, will be needed to care for the millions of elderly Americans and she is doing something about it.
Her program will create the qualified nurses, who will build their teams to provide the necessary care that aging Americans will need.
Stella told Soar to Success,
“I love my work and enjoy my career. I want to share my wisdom, advice, recommendations, and experiences to help inexperienced nurses succeed in the healthcare industry. In turn this will produce the qualified healthcare professionals to handle an aging population.”
Stella is not ready to stop anytime soon. She has authored two additional books on caring for the elderly, “The Elder Cliff 1.0” and “The Elder Cliff 2.0.”
Through hard work, determination and a belief in herself, Stella Nsong built a successful business and is now excited to help others find their own success, as well as, solve a growing elderly healthcare dilemma in the country.
